There have been several discussions about this lately. The short answer
is: convert .doc -> .tex -> .lyx
.doc -> .tex can be done using word2tex or word2x any number of the other
tools around that do this.
.tex -> .lyx is done via reLyX which is part of the LyX distribution

Any document classes supported by LyX will have their respective .layout
files shipped with LyX. Their LaTeX class or style files are usually not
shipped with LyX. However, if you read Help->LaTeX_Configuration you'll
see entries for each of the classes LyX supports and places where you'll
be able to retrieve them.
