GNU-tools are practically complete for emx for many years now. This was
always important for people working in heterogenous environments: You
can behave like in Unix and things are rock solid.

There are already ports for Linux-Doc stuff and we have a number of
existing LaTeX->html translators. I'm only lacking the experience which
one would be adequate for our purposes. And this has always been the
main problem with LyX productivity: You have to find, learn, evaluate
and install/configure all the backends on your own. There is no
knowledge base, which may help you and the documentation is normally
ineadequate for OS/2 purposes. So if you think you want to reinstall
perhaps half a year later you better write down your own documentation
or you have to learn anew.
