I now feel that the only thing that Lyx really lacks is the ability to toggle between citations. The rest is (relatively) incidental. When showing people Lyx they always ask "what is that ERT"? Well, they don't actually say ERT but more like "that looks like latex". I have to concede to them that it is the only way I can get a noun type citation.
