That appears to be me. :-)

The first thing you should notice is that I'm trying to map one to one
every LyX feature with a DocBook feature.

So the Figure float is converted to a figure, where the caption goes to
the figure title. There is also the same analogy with Table floats, the
table floats are the (formal) tables (this means that they have a title),
and the true tables are translated as informal tables (no title).

What is missing now is the support for informal tables (the real ones).
So for now the text for tables is dumped but not formatted, that is the
issue that I'm working now.

The only format that LyX supports now are eps figures, the postfix is
stripped and the stylesheets take care of the right graphics extension.

That is if the graphics name end as ".eps" this extension is removed
and lyx only export to sgml the remaing word.
This works very well for me, the default extension for html (as an example)
is gif, but this can be configured.
You need to have two graphics, one in eps for dvi backend (printing)
inclusion, and other in another format suitable for html inclusion.

There is some work that needs to be done to improve the docbook support.
The future stable series 1.2 will be a major step in the right direction,
there are several concepts now that only can be expressed as verbatim
sgml code.

  Any comments are welcome, thanks.

I send as attachments a lyx file, that is the predecessor of the future
docbook example file.
