I've got couple suggestion for the functionality of Lyx. I've been
using it for about a year now, mostly math notes and technical
documentation. I would like to see a more comprehensive math panel, to
include exponents and indices( even though these are bound to keystrokes).
They should be on the math panel for consistency, since fractions, square
roots, and others are on it.
Also, I'd like to see the input focus to remain on the main
window. Since the math panel is only needed to input special characters,
and symbols, on a one time basis(as compared to entering long strings of
math symbols) , there doesn't seem to be any need to have input focus
remain on the math panel dialog. It would certainly help me if I can enter
a symbol from the math panel, and go right back to typing, rather than
have to grab the mouse to return focus to the edit window.
These may be minor to the point of nitpicking, but they would,
IMHO, add more rapid productivity to Lyx, by keeping the user's mind on
the subject at hand with fewer distractions.
