[many good questions clipped]

The answers to those questions are hidden within piles of heaps of LyX
documentation (all in all nearly 1000 pages in print).
o We need a searchable index, don't we!?
o In the meantime: Why not simply add those q&a as README.FAQ
to the release version? This one pointing just to right point in the
doc's.

This suggestion comes from personal experience:

* Myself chasing around in the docs (wasting time and getting annoyed)
for things I vaguely knew, they were documented.

* And: Three or four users asking me questions after having browsed the
docs themselves. Those questions could be answered by the docs and I
just needed to point them to the relevant section. But being stressed
for many reasons, they just didn't find it, when browsing themselves.
