This just popped into my head this mroning; i don't recall it coming up before. Frequently, multi-lined equations are continuations of single lines, and the line number needs to be shut off for several. Currently, we need to turn it off for each line we don't want labeled. What about making the numbering status of the current line the default for whether or not the next line gets numbered when adding one (ctrl-enter), rather than always numbered? rick --
