Hi!

Next iteration in the kernel saga has arrived.
This time, we have the first segfault in a release.  In a vain attempt to
attract some help, I send this to the list with bugs in it.  I hope this will
serve as a great opportunity for people to demonstrate how excellent they are. 
Fixing the bug requires a good understanding of the design and implementation
of the kernel, so if you make it, you have proven your worth.

Also, there is the start of the documentation in there.   I used the "dia"
program to draw a few charts representing the data structure and the buffer
iterators. (I also produced postscript imagines, so you don't need dia to see
them.) 
I'll continue work soon, and draw the class hierarchy, and implement and
document the rest of the editing operations.  Hopefully, all of this will
happend this week, but we'll see what happens.
