So far I have been unable to track this bug/glitch down, I'd really
like a few more eyes to have a look at it.

lyx-users mailing list, who have heard far too much about this
subject today already.
The error that I originally reported...
1. Writing a simple Lyx file.
2. View DVI
3. Changing LyX file
4. View DVI --> changes not present
I have re-created on two machines now. Both are Intel machines,
one running RH 5.1 and the other running RH 5.2.
I ran "lyx -dbg 128" as you requested, and will attach the output from
this below.
I thank you for your patience! This does seem like a rather subtle and
elusive bug to track down.
