I got some troubles with tables.
First (and maybe this explains everything) I am a bit puzzled by the
documentation (v1.0 pre 2 and 1.0.1). It is said that it is possible
to work on cells selection. But how do you select cells in a
column ? Selecting by the left button of the mouse selects text
"sequentially", from wherever you start to next cells in the same
row, then the next row and so on (Hum, not clear. I mean : if your table
is
a b c
d e f
g h i
you cannot select (b e h) but (b c d e f g h) like in plain text)
It is also said that you can customize a given cell borders by setting
the multicolumn option. This seems to work for top and bottom borders, not
for vertical ones (the whole column is affected).
The second point is closely related to this, and describe a "feature",
also I don't know where it is : I wanted to get 2 tables side by side in a
table float (crazy, I agree), each one with a sub caption (see attached
files). As I didn't succeed, I created one table, using multicolumn to
play with the borders. The fact is that I got (I don't know how, playing
with the table pop-up) a correct result for the first "subcaption, but not
for the second (a border on the left remains, right disappears ok). Note
that the result is "correct" in the output, not on the screen.
To obtain the expected ouput, I edited the generated tex file : 2 lines
before "\end{tabular} I changed
\multicolumn{1}{c|}{~}&
to
\multicolumn{1}{c}{~}&
This is a poor workaround as it supposes to work outside Lyx, and to to
the job every time you modify the lyx file.
May be I am not supposed to do things like this. In this case, could you
help me to do it "properly" ? In all cases, the behavior is strange, also
the problem is not serious, and if this could help you in investigating
the "dark corner"....

P.S. : I remember that I am supposed to send some layouts and comments on
the documentation. I started to work on Elsevier class (elsart.cls) and
letter (based on a very nice letter class from Observatoire de Geneve),
but this is still pending as I got lots of other activities in the
meanwhile. The last project is interesting because I tried to get rid of
imposed ordering of letter parts (he, WYSIWYG is not so bad from time to
time), and this implies a lot of latex code in the layout.
