In case you are going to implement the better TOC support, is it not
feasible to key the functionalities in lyx_func_table[] and
LyXFunc::Dispatch()?

In 1.1 where 16 bit character support is there and the kernel is toolkit
independent, it will not be a problem, but in 1.0 where we are bound to
the xforms limitation, we cannot use the search/replace dialog and TOC
in the Eastern Asian versions. I have once proposed to Masahiko Kawakami
a LyXServer client written in gtk+ which works as a search dialog for
Japanese words/phrases. The replace operation is not possible since there
is no word-replace-forward/word-replace-backward

I know we are short of hands in the development and we must move to 1.1
Could you, however, consider the possiblity?
