Several things. However, I tried to compile it using the latest version of
the Cygwin library and always all the problems disappeared. Only the fact
that Cygwin does not support mkfifo remains. Unfortunately, I didn't get
the ports voor Xlib and Xforms right, so I didn't actually see anything. I
do not have time to look into it now.

You (and Roland and Berhard as well) can check out my LyX-page for the
port: http://www.cs.uu.nl/~steven/lyx.html . It currently shows pre4.
