Another sentiment here is that the web page just gives KLyX too much
prominence.

Why not just say (hopefully at the *bottom* of the page) that a "snapshot"
was ported to QT, with hooks into KDE giving LyX some extra functionality;
if you're interested, click here?  While making it clear that the effort
at lyx.org is working toward a 1.0 release, and shortly thereafter, a
toolkit independent release with lots of new functionality?

Did anyone spot a KDE team at the next table in that Mexican bar?
