I haven't seen any replies cc'd to the list so I'm assuming nobody else
has gotten around to replying to you yet. Fonts and Maths aren't my area
but I will provide a few comments.
It's always encouraging for us to have offers such as yours arrive out of
the blue. So I'd encourage to read on and we can all benefit from your
work.

This is something that Alejandro had been planning for 1.1 and I doubt
very much that we'd want to make these mods in 1.0. That said I
certainly encourage you to port to lyx-1.1 and to make a few mods as
described below.

I don't think is the way to do it. AFAIK, Alejandro wants to support
them if they are available and encourage users to install them but I don't
think we want to be distributing them as well.
Could you get lyx-1.1 from cvs (ie. lyx instead of lyx-1_0_x) and try
porting to it. There are likely to be changes to the font loader and
certainly a rewrite of most of Mathed also in 1.1 which may affect
yourmodifications.
Alejandro? Asger? any other comments?

Could you make a patch available also?
Thanks,
