I think this is really a latex issue, but figuring out how to deal with
it should be somewhere on the horizon.

The letter class is, umm, more than slightly <insert word describing
limited mental capacity here>.

I don't mean the manner of format, and the odd order, but the way it
chooses pagebreaks.

My standard letter ends up leaving a single line, the ennclosure line,
printing on a second page by itself. Deleteing the line before (descript
ion) does not change this, but results in an even larger space on the
first page--now plenty of room for the sole line on the second page to
be printed twice. And if I increase a negative vspace further up, I
end up with about three lines of the last paragraph, the signature, the
enclosures, . . .

Again, it's a latex issue, but we may want some thought about passing
parameters or adding latex code, or using an alternate letter class.
I'm coming out with letters of length near one page that just can't be
made attractive with latex.

Speaking of which, latex is spelled the same way as a kind of plastic
or rubber, which is apparently a popular sex fetish. I did a dejanews
search for "latex and wrap" while trying to find documentation or
howto's on picinpar, or replacements, and got some very odd hits . . .
