After reading you're plea for help I thought I'd better try running reLyX
and seeing if it worked for me.  (I'm currently using David Johnson's
libc5 binary as I'm still getting segfaults from my glibc...)

Anyway,  I ran reLyX and found I had to change a couple things (which DJ
had mentioned in his README.bin and I had ignored).  After setting the
correct path for perl I then had to set the correct path for $lyxdir.

This last one is what I suspect could be a problem.
Is it possible that Jean-Michel's 1.0.0 reLyX is trying to use the older
0.12 reLyX's resources?  Have these changed sufficiently that they might
crash the new 1.0.0 reLyX?

Jean-Michel I don't recall you mentioning whether you installed the
lyx-1.0.0 binary package in the same place it was built for or not.
