it's debian slink (frozen), but it used to be hamm.

It's only got whatever debian installs as tetex.

Changing /var/spool/texmf recursively to group latex and making it 
group writable solves the ls-R write problem, until texhash runs, 
including the nightly cron, and changes it back to root. 

Is there somewhere else i should be looking for the pk?
