corrections to announcement

Is anybody going to make a correction to the 1.0.0 announcement?  I am
still getting about 20 messages a day (so far over 100) about 
the incorrect location of the binaries.  (Well, at least I know that
rejecting messages from the announce list with Re: in the subject
works.)

Once we are at it: why do we get the message 

     Current beta source package is lyx-current.tar.gz.

when I cd to pub/lyx?  Is 1.0.0 beta?
