Yes it appears to be a problem on Solaris only. It could be a bug in xforms
on that platform  ...but no other inset is behaving like this, so something
is done differently.  The only thing I've seen so far that looked
suspicious was a switch-statement without a "default:" (that can put the
code in strange states sometimes), but that wasn't it. 
Some overrun buffer maybe...
