When I was doing this most of the non-spam messages were requests for help with Linux problems or requests for information on joining LUV. For joining requests just advise them to sign up for the mailing lists and/or the Meetup. I can't commit to it on going. In that case it would probably be best if you work with someone who's interested in reading this in the long term.
