TLDR Use DisplayPort instead of HDMI to avoid some hassle in getting 60Hz and you may need a reasonably fast CPU (newer i5 or similar) with mpv using multiple threads to play FullHD video scaled up to 4K. Hardware video decoding won't help much until VP9 decoding is available (which won't be for some time with the amount of money I'm prepared to spend on a video card). https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lg-49-329-5120-x-1440-dual-qhd-ultrawide-monitor-with-hdr10-49wl95c-we-08806091132123/ This is the most ridiculous monitor I've seen. There are some unusual cases where it would make sense, but probably not for anyone here. I'm giving the URL for amusement value. -- My Main Blog http://etbe.coker.com.au/ My Documents Blog http://doc.coker.com.au/ _______________________________________________ luv-main mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
