I'm running Einstein at home to search for pulsars and Asteroids at home to determine the shapes of asteroids. While searching for pulsars is unlikely to have any health effects, we could suffer the same fate as the dinosaurs so research into asteroids is a really good thing. Folding at home is a worthy project, but they probably have plenty of people subscribing to it now. If you haven't setup Boinc before then Folding at home is a reasonable choice for a first project.
