Hi All, I'm contemplating updating my existing weather station, which has pretty much died. Would like the capability for inside/outside temp, humidity, wind speed and direction and rainfall. Wireless/RF comms for the remote station preferred.
Wondering if anyone has experience (good or bad) with accessing weather station data from Linux. I have a Raspberry Pi which I'm in the process of turning into a power monitor via a USB RAVEn device and rrdtool. That got me wondering what options there would be for collecting weather station data. Most of the ones I have seen seem to only make data available via a CSV file you have to download to a USB stick, or use WIndows software. Bonus points if the remote sensors can be powered, or recharged by solar power. Solar panels do not necessarily have to be included, a DC input that can charge batteries would be fine.
