A friend will be going to Vietnam soon and has some baggage space for laptops for Vietnamese kids. They don't need to be new, and don't need to be fully working (broken display and keyboard isn't necessarily a problem as long as VGA and USB ports work).
They will all be used for Linux. But if you don't know the hardware specs then tell me the Windows version listed on the sticker (IE a Windows 7 laptop is more desirable than a Windows XP laptop).
