AIUI in a situation like this,
I'd need 256MiB (not 2GiB) of swap to suspend-to-disk.
$ free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1884 1178 706 269 0 966
-/+ buffers/cache: 211 1673
...but I guess the space saved is not worth the cost of being unable to
suspend-to-disk when firefox is open.
