Yes, you can rescan a SCSI bus with:
echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/$HOST/scan
Where $HOST will typically be host0, host1 etc. depending how many SCSI
hosts (including ATA) you have. This is very useful if you have SCSI
hotplug hard drives, or external SCSI devices that you power on and off!
