This should be a good event. I'm attending.

"Red Hat TECHNICAL DEEP DIVE SERIES"
You’re Invited!
Simplified Linux Systems Management with Red Hat Satellite
A Red Hat Technical Event
Dear Russell,
Systems management keeps getting more complex. Demand for more systems and new
types of computing environments is increasing. Systems management spans
traditional physical and virtual datacentre infrastructure as well as cloud
environments. As a result, insight, standardisation, integration and
automation, and the tools that manage these environments at scale are critical
for organisations looking to meet increasing business demands.
Red Hat Satellite is a systems management platform that makes Linux easier to
deploy, scale, and manage. It provides lower total cost of ownership (TCO) in
life cycle management, and allows you to scale your IT environment as you grow.
The latest release of Red Hat’s systems management solution, Red Hat Satellite
6, delivers dramatic improvements across system provisioning, configuration
management, content management, and overall scalability and security.

Provisioning
With Red Hat Satellite 6, you can provision on bare metal, virtualised
infrastructure, and on public or private clouds — all from one place and with
one simple process.
Configuration Management
A major change in Satellite 6 is the use of Puppet for configuration
management, which replaces configuration channels in Satellite 5. You can now
configure your Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems in a more agile and efficient
manner. Analyze, automatically remediate configuration drift and control, and
enforce the desired host end-state, all from the Satellite user interface (UI).
Life-cycle Management
Managing the complete life cycle of your Red Hat Enterprise Linux
infrastructure ensures better consistency, availability, and auditabilty.
Complete life cycle management includes managing both software content and
configuration content, which Red Hat Satellite handles easily in one
consolidated view. Easily and effectively manage all your systems, whether they
are deployed on physical, virtual, or cloud infrastructure from one console.
Subscription Management
In addition to managing your Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, you can also use
Red Hat Satellite 6 to help manage your Red Hat subscriptions.
Underlying Technologies
In true Red Hat fashion, we will also look under the hood to showcase some of
the underlying technologies that underpin Red Hat Satellite 6, such as:
*Puppet (configuration management)
*Foreman (provisioning)
*Pulp (repository management)
*Katello (content / life-cycle management)
*Candlepin (subscription management)
