Lubuntu Users:
I currently have Lubuntu 20.04 installed. In that system, I
installed the LXDE desktop, which works fine.
Is it also possible to install the Gnome desktop in that system, and
use that (choosing which desktop at login time)?
I know it will use a fair amount of disk-space, but that isn't a
problem for me.
Try, Aere,
It will probably work, but I suggest that you try in a separate system
dedicated for this purpose. There might be some hiccups.

Lubuntu Users:
I installed ubuntu-gnome-desktop on one of my music performance laptops,
and that seems to work fine.
If any of you want to try it, be sure to apply all updates before
installing it, to avoid problems that took a bit of skill to overcome.
I don't know if I'll be able to upgrade it when the next stable release
rolls-around, but that's less important on a music performance machine.
The good advantage I got, is that I can now tap-to-click on the
touchpad, and it shuts down quickly (without any of those 90 second
delays that often happen with Lubuntu).
When it boots, it still says it's Lubuntu, but that's not a problem.
