Hey. I am new to Linux and I just installed Lubuntu on one of my older desktops. I want to download Google Chrome but seem to have trouble doing it. Once I open the file, it takes me to the software installer were it just loads for a long time. Any help will be appreciated.

Muhammad:

If the file you're installing ends with '.deb' (a Debian package), use gdebi to install it. There have been continuing problems with the gnome-software application installing packages not from the repository.

You may need to first install the gdebi package, since it appears not to be installed by default in recent levels of Lubuntu.
