It's a program to display a graphic on your desktop, animate it (float around?). It looks like a watermark (transparency) that appears *on top* of any apps open on the desktop. [1]

Is there anything native to Linux like that? I see Live Wallpaper[2] but it may not do the floating watermark.

OP, sorry I don't know anything about WINE. Hopefully someone who does can answer your question. You'll probably get more help on ubuntuforums.org <http://ubuntuforums.org> since your question is more general about Linux, not LXDE. You'll find people using WINE on all the distros.

Mark:

I use a package called: gphotoframe

You can get it at:

https://code.google.com/archive/p/gphotoframe/

This provides an automatic picture on my desktop, showing pictures from my photo collection at random (configured to change every 8 seconds). It doesn't do a watermark that I know of. I do auto-start it.

I use the Kindle reader on Linux, using Wine. It doesn't auto-start (I double-click the launcher when I want it).

The command part of the desktop launcher for the Kindle reader (the exec= part), is:

env WINEPREFIX="/home/aere/.wine" wine C:\\\\Program\\ Files\\\\Amazon\\\\Kindle\\\\Kindle.exe

The path part of the launcher is:

/home/aere/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Amazon/Kindle/content

Maybe that will give you some clues to use in making it auto-start.
