I humbly suggest a look at the cost and benefits of making i3 easily
incorporated into the LXQT desktop.

This would require programming a plugin for the LXQT toolbar.

LXQT is faster than XFCE, and allowing i3 to easily meld with it is a
perfect match that should exist. A lot of people would find this
functionality very appealing.
