But if you can i think that installing with a little disk image within
virtualbox on a newer pc (without creating swap, and using e.g. a 7-8gb
disk image) and after using dd or clonezilla to transfer the installed
system could be a viable option (in fact it will be even a lot faster, i
think).
When installed, use the shell command
$ VBoxManage internalcommands converttoraw Lubuntu.vdi Lubuntu.dd
if you want to create an image that you can write with dd (e.g. running
system rescue cd on the pc, mounting e.g. an external disk drive with
the Lubuntu.dd file and doing
dd if=Lubuntu.dd of=/dev/sda bs=16M oflag=direct
