Dear all, I installed Lubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S349. This is a laptop with a Centrino processor. First I installed Lubuntu 14.04. In the installation menu I entered the following command:
file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz quiet splash – forcepae Once Lubuntu 14.04 was installed, I upgraded to Lubuntu 16.04 with this command: sudo do-release-upgrade -d I did not manage to installed Lubuntu 16.04 directly on this computer, therefore this roundabout route via Lubuntu 14.04. Now the problem is with the wifi adapter. On my HP desktop computer I succesfully use the Ralink RT5370 wifi adapter in combination with Lubuntu 14.04 (thanks for Phill Whiteside). So I tried to use this adapter also for the laptop. To some extent is adapter is recognized: modinfo rt2800usb | grep 5370 alias: usb:vF201p5370d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip*in* alias: usb:v148Fp5370d*dc*dsc*dp*ic*isc*ip*in* But when clicking on the wifi icon in the lower right corner of the screen (left of the clock on the taskbar) not any wifi connection is listed. I looked at many websites, but they did not help me, also since some of them are outdated. Does anybody know how to get the wifi usb adapter working on this laptop?
