Yes, I have tried that as well... but honestly, I found it was much easier to simply copy my Xorg over from a flash disk. I did have a kernel issue with 14.04 which required me to modprobe one of the various snd-aoa codecs and I still could not get it running, though Fritz pointed out that I should try using alsamixer to select the correct hardware device.
I just think PPC 15.04 has some issues, personally. when I tried Lubuntu earlier on (before release) I did not find as many larger issues... but I have been very busy and not able to devote as much time to testing Lubuntu PPC as I would like.
