Hi Aere and all other Lubuntu users, I agree that Lubuntu 15.04 is a good version :-)
Also 'Encrypted home with cryptswap' has started to work again, and as you wrote Aere, many old graphics chips work. I have confidence in your expert judgement about audio. -o- Did I understand correctly, that installing systems will overwrite the boot sector of the installer (the USB pendrive)? Had you used Unetbootin to make those USB systems? Installing systems should write the bootloader to only one target, and it should be possible to select it with 'Something else' (or be on the same drive as the root partition). When it happened, was the bootloader also written to the internal drive or only to the USB pendrive? I think this should be no problem with the read-only file system you get when you clone the iso file with dd or wrap safety into that process with mkusb. -o- The Startup Disk Creator works for me, when I start with a clean FAT32 file system. Unetbootin works too. These are good when I want persistence stored on the same USB pendrive. I store persistence in a casper-rw partition on the internal drive with pendrives made with mkusb (a partition with the label casper-rw). There is a bug, that appears sometimes, depending on the version of the system where you run the Startup Disk Creator or Unetbootin, bug #1325801, 'gfxboot.c32: not a COM32R Image boot: Edit'. This bug is fixed, but is still there in some old versions / iso files.
