Aere: OK, thanks for the reply, yes, it's the "jagged" graphics, while for the most part the text is readable . . . Were you able to "fix" the graphics issue, or did you revert back to 12.04?
Today, 3 battery applets, two Notepad, and two of something else. Still no lightdm log in; no suspend--goes to blinking boot cursor . . . have to shut down to get back from suspend. And, the "add'l drivers" app opens a "Software & Updates" window frame only . . . it's transparent . . . nothing visible inside . . . . Fan blowing a lot just with web browser and Mail open, and Notepad . . . . Typing this out, today text is again black . . . .
