Hi,
The
"Speicherzugriffsfehler" is the major problem, I see a lot of those
Glib-GObject WARNINGs when I run various things from the terminal.
So, now for my questions...
Have you changed anything major recently, or installed any proprietary
video drivers?
I have had random programs stop working once I installed a proprietary
video driver, because it renamed certain linked libraries (or deleted them).
What tweaking have you done recently? Did you edit any files that
required sudo?

You can always try
sudo apt-get autoremove --purge synaptic && sudo apt-get install synaptic

This removes (and purges the configuration) synaptic, and reinstalls it.

Hi Israel!

Thanks for intervening. I didn't do anything special, it's some time i did not touch the powerbook ... ;)

It's always my pb g4 which i treat with some specials, like jwm instead of openbox and a downgraded kernel (for the sound bug). But before it worked!

I did some cleaning (apt-get autoclean & autoremove). And actually i had in mind to deal with the keyboard settings which do not work like they should.

What you suggested i'd already done, unfortunately. May for the moment, i' ll try to work with aptitude (as a workaround). I was under the impression it might be something related to gtk2 or gtk3 incompabilities. I remember i'd a problem with synaptic not running for that kinds of problems in crunchbang waldorf a couple of years ago (but with an intel based device not ppc ;-) ).

Cheers.
