Julien's post from today (Subject: 'Back on 13.10 release')
addresses this old question above. Included is this excerpt about
the changes in 13.10:

- Remove lxsession-edit

It was also replaced by lxsession-default-app, all the
functionalities are now in lxsession-default-app => Autostart, but
also if you set « no »to « Disable autostarted applications ? »

(And in the menu system, lxsession-default-apps is at Preferences
Default Applications for LXSession.)
If I understood correctly,

you can disable autostart applications manually with a text editor.
The graphical application (a.k.a "Default applications for LXSession →
Autostart") has a lack on this. Is not listing all the startup
applications, but only what you've added.

It reads and writes from/to ~/.config/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart ,
file.

Thanks for helping me round out my understanding of the new lxsession control tool.
