I'm trying to use lxappearance with a 'bare' openbox-session.
i discovered that lxappearance is not more capable to write the gtkrc2.0 and gtk3 settings.ini files.

what packages are required to make lxappearance work also with a minimal desktop install?

furthermore.. i don't know if this could be considered a bug to be filled. i found some qt applications that can't read themes settings, also in a full lubuntu desktop, leaving the users with the only option to write a gtkrc-2.0 file by hand. so i think that it should at least to be an option to also write the gtk settings files.

please forgive my bad english, i hope to have been clear, anyway
