Hi, @Phill That thread was for old version of Skype :D My machine is not old, it is, as explained on that YouTube Video, an HP Pavilion DV6 with Core i5 and 4GB RAM that running 3 systems at the moment: Lubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 12.10 and Windows 7.
No worries, you like IRC more than Skype :P @Ioannis Vranos "Allow Skype to automatically adjust my mixer levels" is checked by default. When I un-check it, the quality of the voice became much much worse so that option must remain checked :) @Nio I'm using the internal Mic. With Windows, it can pick the sound from outside and it is very powerful and quality is amazing. I don't use External Mic to talk on Skype as I don't have one and never needed one with that machine :) My friend who I'm talking to from time to time on Skype has Ubuntu 12.04 and this problem is happening with him as well except it is worse on my side. I must do some deep digging ...
