I'm currently a Thunderbird user in Windows (though chafing heavily
under its font-related bugs and wondering if I'll switch to something
else), and the newest version made changes to the menu/tabarea of the
screen. I wonder if the menu is there but you just can't see it. To
test that, press Alt-F to see if the File menu appears.
