Forwarding this: top posted comment: Boris R. has been giving me some pointers towards getting 14.04 PPC into more use-able state on my G4 iBook . . . seems to have made a difference using "Linux video=ofonly radeon.agpmode=-1" at the second Yaboot window . . . now I would wonder how to make that param semi-permanent . . . . Even seems to have brought "suspend" somewhat back . . . this morning did not "revive" . . . but posibly due to battery old age.
"- don't! My understanding was using "radeonfb" conflicts with KMS which we want to use nowadays, so try to leave it out and instead use only "video=ofonly radeon.agpmode=-1"" Boris: Good news!!! Alrighty, since I didn't combine those two items before I did it, and right away the fan started blowing . . . and I have a number of windows open, so this is much further than I've gotten before. Seems like the "agp" params were **not*** carried over from the LiveDVD installer? Anyway, thanks, I'll play around with it, see if "suspend" will work, etc. Then I guess I would need your instruction on how to make these params "permanent"????? F
