No, thank you for being a tester!!! > This bug is still blocking PPC from even booting: > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1363180 > the duplicate #1367448 has a better description. I see that you've checked this against dailies, which is where it is supposed to be fixed. If it indeed is not, please leave a comment on the bug report suggesting that it is not fixed. It works fine for me on a 64 bit G5, but they are apparently immune. > my guess is that even if it gets cleared before release, bug #1256588 > will still block approval. That looks like a nasty one. I guess we need to be able to boot first, though! > I'd very much like to see PPC continue but > it will need some love from the developers As far as I knew based on that bug report, we should be able to boot fine. Unfortunately, there's no tools for me to get reports on the results of daily testing, so I rely on the bug reports (which I'm automatically subscribed to) to keep me updated on things. That being said, I need testers to do the following: 0. find bugs 1. report bugs 2. get others to confirm them (this mailing list is a good start!) 3. make sure I'm aware of them (subscribe Lubuntu Packages Team) 4. wait for me to coordinate with devs and such for a fix or workaround 5. test the fix or workaround 6. report the results of the tests on the bug report This way the bug report should always have the most up to date information in it. I know it's annoying that you can't just drop it into the ISO tracker and call it good. There's a few bug reports out there requesting reporting tools that don't currently exist, but this is the best workaround presently. Again, thank you for your commitment of time and energy. I'm confident that we can work together to finally make PPC usable again. wxl -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa Post to : lubuntu-qa@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
