Lately Firefox has been failing to run, choosing to segfault instead: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1284103
I tested tonight with a live dvd and it happens even in the live session. And it happens even after a fresh installation. This is on AMD64+mac, but maybe it happens for others on other architectures. Given how central the browser is to desktop usage, I figure this is a red bug.
