I downloaded the image and burned it with Xfburn on the Mac Mini. Booting up from the CD is typical with yaboot: I put in the radeon line to boot to the Mini.
Then the Plymouth text screen starts, first with a cyan background, then after about 3-4 minutes it switches to a black background and the progress periods change from white to orangeish and back without going to the live screen. (or at least they haven't for 2 hours now, I'll go to sleep with the computer doing this just in case something's really really slow.) My LiveCD from 6/13 boots fine and installs fine. I'll try again with tomorrow's liveCD.
