I'm running an ibook g4 flawlessly, too. Regular Ubuntu won't even boot.
Lubuntu boots and runs using those boot parameters, though.

Use those boot parameters, I didn't see your attachment, but I seem to
remember having an issue like that during an install/boot attempt (early
regular Ubuntu? Not sure)
