I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I'm not doing anything specific with having extra kernels or custom kernels, but by just doing updates like normal I've ran out of space. I manually removed unnecessary kernels to free up space. Could this be a bug in the installer? Not giving enough room to kernel space?
