Finally got a Live USB to have good graphics and clean dialog boxes for the install.
Here were my steps: zsync today's iso.. Placed the iso on the USB with dd command sudo dd if=quantal-desktop-powerpc.iso of=/dev/sdb Got into OpenFirmware with Power-Option-Apple-O-F all at pretty much same time. Addressed USB with > boot usb0/@1:2,\\yaboot selected L (small l) at yaboot boot: live video=radeonfb:1024x768-32@60 No nasty dithered graphics live or on reboot either...
