I've tried again with the 2012-09-12 Alternate image and the installation gets stuck while asking for a new CD to be inserted. The actual message is "Please insert the disc labeled:' Lubuntu 12.10 _Quantal Quetzal_ - Alpha powerpc (20120912)' in the drive '/media/cdrom/' and press enter." There's no such disc, so the installation fails.
