Hi Walter,

I don't know. what I see now that modemmanager is in lubuntu 12.04 is the device listed in the nm icon & an option to install it. Clicking on the 'install' bit does nothing, so it is, I think, a case of Julien finding out which app it calls and adding it to the build list.

Phill.

Would it be helpful to test this with a 3G USB device with no service?

hi Julien,

The Lubuntu 12.04 now sees the 3G device and I am asked to install it when clicking on the nm icon. It seems that the programme to actually install it is missing as nothing happens. I've checked with Ubuntu 12.04 LiveCD and it works as expected.

Sorry I cannot be of much more help, I don't know what else is missing. On the plus side, I will be taking 12.04 lubuntu to India with me & have already booked a laptop & 3G card for my appartment, so I will be able to test anything you wish me to.

Regards,

Phill.

Hi Boss,

There have been some issues with the kernel today. I've got both ubuntu & lubuntu iso's downloaded. I'll zsync both after the respins (tomorrow for me) and check with both to let me track down the cause.

Phill.

Thanks for the test. Could you test with others icon themes (like ones
from ubuntu-mono package) ?
If you can't obtain an icon with any themes, that's a bug in
network-manager itself.
